Manufactured by one of Japan's ONLY workshops capable of producing 100% MADE IN JAPAN Kendogu, the KANMURI is the ultimate fusion of traditional and modern materials. This Bogu set combines regal elegance with supreme functionality and durability—befitting of the name “KANMURI.”
Combining the expertise of master artisans behind the Matsukan, Nanahoshi, and Tetsu brands – crafted by some of the most renowned Kendogu manufacturers in all of Japan—the KANMURI is the first of its kind to offer both the unrestricted mobility and comfort of a tournament style Bogu set, without compromising the qualities of protection or durability. While offering the look and feel of a Jissengata Bogu set, the KANMURI offers a fully made to order, made in Japan experience for those looking for a premium quality Bogu set, that is durable and protective enough for literally all occasions.
The KANMURI is fully reinforced using the finest cuts of genuine 'Aizome' dyed deerskin as standard. Utilizing only the highest quality materials, the pre-massaged Futon of the KANMURI is soft and flexible, durable, and extremely shapable. The KANMURI come ready for use out of the box with the same unique and elegant pre-shaped Mendare and Tare that have made this one of the most sought after Bogu sets in all of Japan. Despite not requiring extensive break-in time like many other Bogu sets, the high-quality, durable, and robust ‘Aizome’ deerskin evolves over time, aging beautifully in both appearance and texture as one uses it.
The Kote feature the finest ‘Aizome’ deerskin, fully reinforcing the Kote-Atama, Tsutsu (wrist joint), and Futon, giving them a beautiful and distinctive look right from the first glance. The half-smoked deerskin on the Tenouchi allow one to experience the the best of both worlds, giving the Kote the durability of smoked deerskin and softness of bleached deerskin, while perfect shaped to complement the curves of the palm without interfering with grip. The KANMURI Kote immediately molds to the shape of the wearer’s hands and wrists, requiring virtually no break-in time, setting it apart from more traditional Bogu sets. The Kote Atama offers a choice between alternating Kazari-Ito for additional mobility and a more Jissengata-like feel, or a standard Kazari for a traditional look.

NO CORNERS ARE CUT IN PRODUCTION OF ANY OF THESE BOGU SETS, AND WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON THE QUALITY WE OFFER. THIS QUALITY REQUIRES TIME. PRODUCTION OF OUR CALIFORNIA GOLD LABEL SETS ARE DEPENDANT ON THE WORKLOAD OF OUR CRAFTSMAN, AND THE AVAILABILITY OF THE REQUIRED MATERIALS, HOWEVER, IN GENERAL, PRODUCTION OF THE KONJIKI IS CURRENTLY ESTIMATED AT TWO TO THREE MONTHS.
