California Gold Label: KONJIKI - Premium All-Purpose Jissengata Bogu Set
Introducing the flagship model of our premium California Gold lineup – the KONJIKI Bogu Set.
California Budogu works with a full team of experienced and talented craftsmen who have the expertise and know-how to create a Bogu set to your exact sizes and specifications. The KONJIKI Bogu set gives our customers an opportunity to design a Bogu set that is not only made to fit you perfectly, but made exactly to your own personal design.
Utilizing the exceptional quality Orizashi and deerskin, the KONJIKI is both lightweight and durable, allowing the Bogu last throughout years of intense practice while keeping luxurious look ideal to exhibit at tournaments, promotion exams and everyday Keiko.
The Men features a new type of stitching and diagonal cut, with wider 8mm stitching along the top of the Men-buton and a 4mm Hybrid-Gunomezashi stich on the Mendare – a unique combination of standard Gunomezashi and diagonal Nanamezashi. This provides excellent protection while also giving the Mendare a beautiful and dignified shape when worn—perfect for both Shiai and Shinsa. Meticulously crafted with attention to even the smallest details, the Ago features a double Kannuki while the Menbuchi boasts 70 rows of Tojikawa stitching, offering superior craftsmanship and durability compared to standard Men. The Men features a unique IBB-SWV (Safety Wide View) Duralumin Mengane, increasing the range of sight to improve vision between the Monomi bars.
The Kote are based on our best-selling California Budogu PALLADIUM Kote, featuring upgraded deerskin Herikawa with a choice of while Ultrasuede or half-smoked deerskin palms. This gives the Kote the unique comfort and feel of our PALLADIUM Kote, with improved durability, looks, and the ability to customize.
The Tare features a unique U-shape Obi, making the Tare for enhanced comfort and mobility. The left and right O-Dare feature a unique vertical Kazari-ito along the inside border, allowing the O-Dare to easily retain a perfect shape. Just like with the Men, even the slightest modifications, such as the lowered top Kazari-Ito, enhance the durability and appearance of the Tare. This design minimizes contact with the Do, reducing the chance of rubbing and disheveling the Kazari-Ito.
The combination of the U-shaped cut of the Tare and the vertical Kazari give the Tare a dignified and modern look. The deerskin not only on the Herikawa, but where the Obi connects to the Himo, gives the Tare improved durability.
The entire Bogu set is infused with antishock and antibacterial TASTEX-MGU for extra protection and cleanliness.
One of the standout aesthetic features of the Konjiki set is the Kusari-Ito – a distinctive row of colored stitching that perfectly aligns with the Kazari-Ito on the Mendare and O-Dare. This subtle yet distinctive stitching allows you to add a touch of color to your Bogu set without being as conspicuous as changing the Kazari-Ito. The set features Kogecha colored Kusari-Ito as standard – a rich, dark brown that shifts to an elegant wine red depending on the lighting. The stitching on Bogu parts such as the Chidori, Ten, and Chi will match the Kusari-Ito color chosen.
