Drawing from years of experience using and designing countless Bogu sets and inspired by the best features in the world of Budogu, the SHINONOME Bogu Set from the California Gold lineup is a durable all-purpose Bogu set offering unparalleled beauty. Unlike other sets on the market, this Tezashi-Fuu Bogu set has been meticulously designed from scratch by the California Budogu team to combine the timeless aesthetics of traditional hand-stitched Bogu, with the advanced comfort and performance of modern materials.
Featuring unique 2.6 Bu Juujizashi on a Made-in-Japan Takeshima #8800 cotton Futon, this set masterfully combines lightweight comfort with maximum durability. The Bogu set is entirely reinforced with premium Aizome-dyed deerskin, creating the ultimate combination of longevity and luxury. This Bogu set is perfect for everyday practice and exceptional for special occasions. Each set is made-to-measure and tailored to your exact specifications, ensuring a flawless fit.
Juujizashi, often referred to as cross-stitching or cross-pitch, is a stitching technique popularized nearly a decade ago with the help of CA Budogu’s owner, Nathan. The wider vertical and horizontal stitching on the Datotsubui (striking area) creates a shock-absorbing grid, disappating the impact of Shinai strikes before they transfer to the body. Incorporating a unique mix of Juujizashi and Gunomezashi, the tighter grid pattern on the Mendare and outer Tare panels provides a flexible yet sturdy framework, enhancing the Futon's shape retention and structural rigidity. This advanced stitching design delivers superior performance and protection, with a distinctive appearance similar to that of a traditional Tezashi Bogu.
The innovative Juujizashi stitching style truly shines in the Men, offering exceptional comfort and cushioning on the top while ensuring effortless shapability in the Mendare. Designed to exemplify the traditional Tezashi aesthetic, this Bogu set doesn’t compromise on durability or elegance. The Menbuchi is meticulously crafted with 70 rows of Tojikawa stitching, creating a luxurious and refined look. The addition of a Titanium Mengane as standard enhances both durability and aesthetics, providing a brilliant shine that complements the overall design.
