Crafted from the same exquisite Sho-Aizome dyed cotton used in other 'BUSHUICHI' models, the BUSHUICHI MONYOU series—available exclusively in North America from California Budogu—features traditional patterns woven directly into the fabric.

This model showcases the Ichimatsu pattern in white, blending timeless Japanese design with the signature elegance and quality of the BUSHUICHI brand.

The Ichimatsu pattern, named after the renowned Kabuki actor Ichimatsu Sanogawa (1722–1762), is a pattern that rose in popularity during the Edo Period. This checkerboard design carries a symbolic meaning of prosperity and has become a timeless favorite for its balanced yet unique aesthetic.

Perfect for tournaments, it combines aesthetic excellence with exceptional comfort, making it the ideal choice for those seeking a lightweight, single-layer Kendogi with a fun, yet polished twist.

Manufactured by Nogawa Senshoku Kougyou in Saitama, Japan—an Aizome workshop with over 100 years of history and tradition—the 'BUSHUICHI' brand is renowned as one of the most sought-after names in Kendogi throughout Japan. California Budogu is proud to be the ONLY official retailer of the 'BUSHUICHI' brand in the United States!
