Tenugui by Chiho [智烽]: Shuunen

In collaboration with renowned calligrapher Chiho [智烽], we are proud to be the first international Bogu shop to offer her work to Kendoka outside of Japan. 

This Tenugui features the phrase Shūnen (執念)—meaning “strong determination” or “unyielding persistence.” It embodies a powerful focus, and the will to pursue one’s goal without letting go. In Kendo, it reflects the spirit of committing fully to each strike, carrying an unwavering intent from beginning to end.

The calligraphy for this Tenugui is handwritten by hand by Chiho [智烽],  a renowned calligrapher in the Kendo world from Tsukuba University. Chiho's work can be seen on the Zekken and Tenugui of some Japan's national team members and most esteemed Sensei in the Kendo community.
