This Tenugui features a “Tatsu” (Dragon), created from an original hand-painted sumi-ink artwork. The piece is carefully translated into a stencil and dyed to preserve the depth and energy of the brushwork.

Though the dragon is an imaginary creature that originated in China, it has long been revered in Japan as a deity of water and the sea, symbolizing strength, protection, and good fortune. Emerging from between the clouds, the dragon is depicted with striking presence and intensity.
